Man charged after dramatic police pursuit across Perth ends with driver on a rooftop
A 38-year-old man has been arrested after a wild police chase in Perth.
Police sighted a suspected stolen Subaru Forester SUV travelling on Melville Beach Road in Applecross shortly after 10am on Friday.
Officers allege the car was stolen from a home in Bentley between November 23 and December 5, before being used in two home burglaries in Daglish this week.

Police followed the car, turning on their lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the car but they say the man behind the wheel continued to drive at speed through Perth.
The SUV swerved through traffic, barrelling through intersections in a game of cat and mouse, which police say had many close calls.

Sonja Whimp had her own near miss while driving through South Perth.
"I looked to my left, I made eye contact with this gentleman and he was flying, nearly clipped the side of my car," she told 9News.

"I was in my backyard. There was helicopters and sirens (and) they were saying there was about 30 cop cars," one witness told 9News.
After jumping out of the car and sprinting through a park, the male driver found himself on the roof of The Naval Store, surrounded by police.
The chaos sent Fremantle's Artillery Barracks into lockdown as police negotiated with the 38-year-old, who was brought down just after midday by a firefighter crane.

Police were relieved by the civil end to the dramatic day.
"It was fantastic that no one was hurt," WA Police Acting Inspector Paul Robinson said.
The man is in custody facing seven serious charges – including driving without a licence - and will front Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
