There's been an unexpected wedding guest at a ceremony on the Gold Coast.

A couple called Marc and Maxine were sharing their vows in the Currumbin Valley, when all of a sudden a Kookaburra landed on the bride's head.

"It's OK," the surprised groom could be heard saying as the bride looked up in shock.

The Instagram caption theorised it may have been a heavenly blessing from Maxine's late father and Marc's late mother.

It said the Aussie bird symbolises laughter, healing, and family connection.
