We need a leave bank: trade unions
AAP
Trade unions have challenged the Turnbull government to establish a national leave bank scheme modelled on industry superannuation funds.
The scheme would allow more than the one in three workers in casual contract-based positions access to sick and annual leave, ACTU secretary Dave Oliver wrote in Fairfax Media on Friday.
Under the proposed scheme employers would be required to deposit funds into individual employee leave banks which staff could access.
