WA woman charged with mother's murder

A woman accused of interfering with the corpse of her 76-year-old mother has now been charged with her murder.

Helen Levina, 55, was initially charged with interfering with the corpse of Ella Victoria Hromaya to hinder an inquiry, but at a court appearance on Friday, it was revealed she was now accused of murder too.

Ms Hromaya's 21-year-old granddaughter, who lived at the house with her mother and grandmother, discovered the body after she noticed a smell and found a skull in the back yard last month.

Levina, 55, appeared in Midland Magistrates Court on Friday and is scheduled to appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on April 27.
