WA telco worker accused of tech rort

A 38-year-old Perth man has been accused of stealing more than $250,000 worth of technology from the telecommunications company that employed him, then selling the items online.

Police allege the man ordered phones and iPads under various client accounts then forwarded them to himself rather than to the customers between January and October last year, pocketing the proceeds from their sale online.

He's been charged with 40 counts of stealing as a servant and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on September 9.
