A 53-year-old man charged over a siege Western Australia's southwest will face court on four charges including deprivation of liberty.

David Charles Batty allegedly kept local laundromat owner Peter Williams captive over 12 hours in a Bunbury park while heavily armed police tried to negotiate with him.

The tense stand-off ended with Batty being shot twice with non-lethal ammunition.

Batty will face the District Court of Western Australia on Thursday via videolink from Bunbury Magistrates Court.
