WA shooting suspect caught in traffic stop

A man sought by police after allegedly shooting an acquaintance in Perth's Hills region has been captured and charged.

Joshua Greg Allen had been wanted since September 22, when a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg at a house on Ryan Way in Lesmurdie.

Several items were also stolen from the residence.

Allen was a passenger in a black Mercedes stopped by police on Karrinyup Road on Sunday night and because there was a warrant out for his arrest, he was immediately taken into custody and charged without interview.

He is accused of unlawfully acting with intent to harm, discharging a loaded firearm in a dwelling and stealing.

Allen is due to appear in Northbridge Magistrates Court later on Monday.
