WA scammers pose as charity workers

Scammers are posing as charity fundraisers, cold calling Perth residents and asking for fake donations.

St Vincent de Paul Society WA has issued a public warning after receiving reports a scammer was calling the public and selling fake Vinnies Christmas Appeal tickets.

Chief executive Mark Fitzpatrick said St Vincent de Paul WA does not cold call people, and urged the public to check with the official charity before donating any money.
