WA prospector search areas expanded

The search for a missing prospector in Western Australia's Goldfields region has been expanded in a bid to shed light on the mystery.

Raymond Kehlet, 47, was last month found dead at the bottom of a 12-metre deep disused mine shaft, more than three weeks after he and his wife Jennie, 49, were last seen camping some 30km away from the Sandstone Caravan Park.

On Tuesday, police said they would search a broader area and revisit previously searched areas in a bid to find items that may shed light on Mr Kehlet's death and his wife's disappearance.

Their prospecting equipment is yet to be recovered.
