WA Pilbara on weekend flood watch

A flood warning has been issued for WA's Pilbara region.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issues a moderate flood warning on Friday night and into Saturday, with predicted heavy rain likely to cause unpredictable levels in floodways and river crossings.

Water will be fast flowing and levels will rise quickly, the warning says.

WARNING AREAS

* Fortescue River, De Grey River, Pilbara Coastal River catchments, Turner River, Yule River, Nullagine River, Coongan River and Shaw River.

* People in Marble Bar, Nullagine, Newman, Port Hedland and surrounding areas may also be affected.
