A fly-in fly-out worker will face trial over the death of a father of two after an argument about a loud party in Perth.

Christopher Malcolm Carkeek was charged with two offences after he allegedly assaulted the 45-year-old victim in Seville Grove on May 31.

The Perth Magistrates Court heard on Monday that Carkeek had not yet formally entered a plea but that a forthcoming trial would centre on "causation".

He was granted bail under conditions including that he surrender his passport and not approach the Brown Crescent home where the alleged attack took place.

Carkeek must pay a personal undertaking of $5000 and a surety of the same amount.

He will reappear in court on June 29 for a mention only.
