WA records another day of zero new cases as schools set to return

Western Australia has recorded no new cases of COVID-19 overnight, both within the community and within hotel quarantine.

In accordance with the the government's COVID-19 pause, schools in the state will resume from tomorrow.

However, WA Premier Mark McGowan today introduced a mandatory mask requirement for teachers in the Perth, Peel and South West regions.

Additionally, senior students in the same regions will also have to wear masks.

Mr McGowan said while the current numbers are good, now is not the time to erase all COVID-19 protocols.

"These are all encouraging numbers for WA. Please keep getting tested – let's not take our foot off the pedal now," he said.

"Currently all arrivals from Victoria are required to complete 14 days of home quarantine.

"Based on the current health advice, the pause with Victoria's borders will continue over the coming days."

The state's total number of confirmed cases remains at 907.
