WA man 'secretly filmed children'

A man who allegedly secretly filmed children at schools, shopping centres and public sporting areas in Western Australia will have his case heard in court.

The 30-year-old Esperance man was charged after police uncovered 40,000 images and video recordings allegedly showing child exploitation material.

Some of the recordings were found by police in August 2015 when officers seized a number of mobile phones, computers, storage devices and micro optical recording equipment.

The man will appear via videolink at Esperance Magistrates Court on Tuesday to face multiple charges including indecently recording a child under 13, and producing and possessing child exploitation material.
