Man denies Goldfields woman's murder

A 64-year-old man accused of murdering a relative in the West Australian Goldfields town of Laverton has pleaded not guilty.
Mervyn Annear allegedly killed Sharna Jennifer Annear, 30, on November 20 last year.
Annear entered the plea in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via video link from Bunbury Regional Prison on Wednesday, was remanded in custody and will make his first appearance in the Supreme Court of WA on August 21.

Annear, from Gnowangerup in the Great Southern region, is also charged with car theft and criminal damage by fire, which allegedly happened on the same day as the murder.
Those matters will return to court on August 30.
