WA man charged with stealing $52k gold bar

A man contracted to the Perth Mint refinery has been charged with stealing a one kilogram gold bar worth more than $52,000.

The Perth Mint noticed a gold bar was missing last month, prompting an internal inquiry by its security management team, which was then referred to police.

A 25-year-old Ballajura man has been charged with stealing as a servant and gaining benefit by fraud.
