The driver of a car carrying eight people including children and a pregnant woman allegedly threatened rescue crews after crashing in West Australian bushland.

Police say the occupants suffered various injuries in the crash, which occurred at 3pm on Sunday in Orange Springs north of Perth, when the driver lost control of the car.

They allege he threatened and assaulted a firefighter who was helping to free people in the car, then interfered with the landing of the rescue helicopter and threatened aircrew.
