A 50-year-old Perth man has been charged with misleading immigration after an investigation into a fictitious cattle deal.

Paul Gregory Harrison is alleged to have provided migration advice and false documents as well as misleading information to the Department Immigration and Border Control.

Harrison is scheduled to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on October 29.

The department said visa applicants should ensure they only used registered migration agents when seeking immigration assistance.
