WA Liberals pledge $114m for freeway lanes

If re-elected, the WA Liberals will spend $114 million building up to 17km of additional lanes on Perth's Mitchell Freeway.

Transport minister Bill Marmion says the freeway is one of the most used in Perth, with up to 190,000 cars per day, and widening it would greatly benefit people in the northern suburbs.

Up to 455 construction jobs would be created for the project, which is marked to begin in April and finish by late 2019.
