WA Labor's education election pledges flow

Education is at the centre of the WA opposition's election promises for the second consecutive day, with Labor promising to spend $50 million upgrading a high school in the Liberal-held seat of Balcatta.

The opposition said the improvement would be funded from unallocated funds in the state budget beginning in 2017-18.

It comes a day after WA Labor pledged to establish an academic college in a high-rise building in Perth at a cost of $45 million, funded by using money the Barnett government wants to spend on a high school in affluent City Beach.
