WA electricity prices to increase mid-year

Household power prices have been budgeted to rise mid year in Western Australia and the energy minister says a higher increase is a matter for cabinet.

Forward estimates show prices will rise by seven per cent each year for the next three years, yet Ben Wyatt, who is also state treasurer, has not ruled out more of an increase, ABC reports.

Price reflectivity could be an option for the state, which would see costs rise to reflect what providers pay.
