WA dad jailed for raping, pimping girl

PEDOPHILE FATHER JAILED UNTIL AT LEAST 2035: "ONE OF THE WORST CASES OF ITS KIND"

WHO

A 42-year-old father, who cannot be named.

CHARGES

He faced 61 sexual offences committed between 2013 and 2015 when his daughter was aged between 11 and 13. He raped her, forced her to wear bondage and watched as others abused her. He met the other men through online advertisements.

ARREST

He was among eight men arrested as part of Operation Ripstop, but it was later revealed one of the men did not abuse the daughter. Police made the arrests after information was received from a member of the public.

PLEA

He told police "it was fun while it lasted". Judge Philip Eaton said the abuse would have lasting and probably irreparable consequences for the girl, describing it as one of the worst cases of its kind.

SENTENCE

Sentenced to 22-and-a-half years, with a minimum of 20-and-a-half years. With time already served, his earliest release date will be in October 2035.

Judge Philip Eaton said rather than protect the girl, the father "in fact allowed complete strangers to treat your daughter as a sexual object and treated her like that yourself."

OTHER ACCUSED

Photographer Benjamin Simon Clarke was jailed for three years, while former pastor and father-of-two, Dawid Volmer, was sentenced to 10-and-a-half years in jail. Four other men are also facing charges.
