WA bushfire emergencies continue

Hundreds of firefighters continue to battle two separate bushfires threatening towns in Western Australia's south. Lightning sparked the blazes in Northcliffe and Lower Hotham seven and six days ago, respectively. Here's the status:

- Risk to lives and homes in: Northcliffe, Windy Harbour, Parkfield, Bracken Rise, Double Bridge and the southern part of Lower Hotham

- Northcliffe about 350km from Perth, 4+ hour drive

- Lower Hotham about 180km from Perth, 2.5+ hour drive

- Evacuation centres at Pemberton Sports Club and Boddington Sports Pavilion

DAMAGE

- Two homes confirmed destroyed, one unconfirmed

- Woman, two children rescued from burning house

- 80,000 hectares burnt in Northcliffe

- 32,000 hectares burnt in Lower Hotham

RESOURCES

- 200+ firefighters in Northcliffe

- 70+ firefighters in Lower Hotham

- 100+ Victorian firefighters dispatched
