A 17-year-old P-plater has been charged with reckless driving after allegedly being caught speeding at 183km/h with two 15-year-old passengers in his vehicle south of Perth.

Police say the boy did a u-turn and drove at high speed in the opposite direction after being pinged in a 100km/h speed zone in Dawesville around 10pm on Friday.

All three occupants were taken to Mandurah Police Station where the driver's parents were called.
