WA bikie 'stabbed woman with scissors'

A former Finks bikie member stabbed his pregnant girlfriend with scissors and a broken mug, repeatedly punched her in the face and pointed a gun at her, a Perth jury has heard.

Tristan Roger Allbeury, 33, allegedly committed the spate of violence against Nikitta Goddard in 2010 in an attempt to control her, the West Australian District Court heard on Monday.

Prosecutor Adam Hills-Wright said Allbeury perforated Ms Goddard's eardrum and punched her in the ribs during one incident.

Another time, he punched her nose and continued to hit her, resulting in two black eyes, a swollen lip and bruises.

Her hands were so swollen that a ring had to be cut off, Mr Hills-Wright said.

In a third incident, Allbeury allegedly stabbed Ms Goddard with scissors in the thigh, arm and shoulder.

Mr Hills-Wright said on a separate occasion Allbeury beat Ms Goddard with an umbrella, smashed a mug against a wall, then struck her in the head with a piece.

As she shielded herself, her wrist was slashed, exposing bone.

The violence culminated in Allbeury pointing a gun at her as their cars passed, the jury heard.

Allbeury was jailed nine days after their son was born but they maintained contact.

Mr Hills-Wright said letters from Allbeury demonstrated admissions of violence.

"I've done some awful things to you and I know you want me to be less violent," one letter read.

"I will make up for all the hurt and violence I put you through."

Allbeury's defence counsel asked the jury to put aside their prejudices and assess Ms Goddard's credibility.

He said Ms Goddard was a chronic drug addict and had been caring for Allbeury's son when the baby was attacked by a dog, which made the accused "crazy" in prison thinking about his son's care.

Allbeury was previously sentenced after pleading guilty to making threatening calls to Ms Goddard after the dog attack.
