WA beach reopens after shark bite

A beach in Western Australia has repoened two days after a teenager was nipped by a grey nurse shark.

Eli Zawadzki was bitten on the foot while surfing at Pyramids Beach in Dawesville on Wednesday and taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment.

The 18-year-old was 40 metres offshore when he felt a bite on his foot, before turning around and seeing a small shark's head.

A Department of Fisheries spokeswoman said there had been no shark sightings in the are since late on Wednesday.
