Union launches ads to save TAFE in WA

Unionists have launched an advertising campaign in a bid to convince the West Australian government to invest more money in TAFE.

The State School Teachers' Union says TAFE is under threat due to the WA government cutting its funding, which has led to an increase in course fees, staff cuts and course closures.

The union says 7000 students dropped out in 2014 and it estimates another 7000 have left this year because fewer young people can afford to go to TAFE.
