Two young girls have been injured after a car ploughed into their Perth home while they were sleeping.

Police said the car lost control and crashed into the living room of a Mirrabooka house at 3am on Sunday, narrowly missing two girls, aged eight and nine.

They were treated in hospital for cuts and bruises.

Three adults and two other children were also asleep in the house at the time but were not hurt.

A 22-year-old man, who was allegedly driving the car, ran away and was caught at a nearby house.

He is in hospital with minor injuries and will be questioned by police after his release.

Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
