Taxi driver charged with indecent assault

A 28-year-old Perth taxi driver has been charged after allegedly indecently assaulting a passenger.

West Australian police said the victim was a 28-year-old woman who hailed the taxi, along with with four other adults, on Albany Highway in Victoria Park at about 4.20am on Sunday.

She was sitting in the front passenger seat while her companions were in the rear when the indecent assault allegedly occurred, police said.

The taxi driver has been charged with six counts of indecent assault and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on September 24.
