Stranger tries to pay Daniel Kerr's surety

A complete stranger has tried to pay the $5000 surety needed by former West Coast Eagles footballer Daniel Kerr, who remains in Perth's Hakea prison after a violent incident.

Kerr was charged with two counts of endangering the life, health or safety of a person after an incident in Glendalough on Tuesday night.

He was granted bail in Perth Magistrates Court the following day, and while his parents attended, they did not pay his surety.

Kerr was still in the remand prison on Friday afternoon.

The stranger who offered to put up the money for his release told reporters the Department of Corrective Services wouldn't let him because he was unknown to the 31-year-old.

Also on Friday, former Eagles footballer Michael Braun visited Hakea but refused to tell the waiting media whether he was visiting Kerr.

If Kerr's surety is paid, he will need to abide by court-imposed conditions including a 7pm to 7am curfew.

He must also stay away from the two complainants and two addresses involved in the alleged incident, the details of which were not revealed in court.

Kerr is scheduled to return to court on November 26.
