A 45-year-old former Perth solicitor has been charged with a dozen stealing offences for allegedly pocketing a client's money and not using it for proper purposes.

Police claim the man did not bank into his firm's trust account numerous payments to cover costs associated with the client's legal case.

The man has been charged with 12 counts of stealing as well as 10 counts of fraud related to cash reimbursements for interstate flights that he had claimed but was not eligible for.
