Shark warning for popular Perth beaches
AAP
A warning has been issued for several Perth beaches after a white shark sighting and a series of tagged shark detections over the past week.
Two white sharks were detected a total of seven times over the past week and one was spotted off Swanbourne Beach on Wednesday, with a warning issued for the area from Leighton Beach to Sorrento Beach.
"It is possible that the frequency or duration of the recent reported sightings and detections may increase the likelihood of encountering a shark in this area," the Fisheries Department said.
