Searchers hopeful of finding missing crew

Search crews remain hopeful of finding three men on board a commercial fishing trawler that has gone missing off Western Australia's Pilbara coast.

Items belonging to the vessel that have washed up along the Burrup Peninsula include an unused life raft, an emergency location beacon, ration supplies and some fishing items.

The 13-metre-long trawler has not made contact since failing to return to Point Samson near Karratha on Wednesday morning.

The three men on board are from the Geraldton area.

An extensive search for the vessel and its crew will continue on Friday.
