Man on the run from Perth prison used stolen forklift in escape plot

A man is on the run after using a stolen forklift to escape from a Perth minimum security prison.
Geoffrey Ninyette, 19, fled the Wandoo Reintegration facility in Murdoch just before 9pm last night with three other using the machinery stolen from within the prison.
Serco, which manages the centre, today confirmed it kept a number of light industrial equipment onsite for work and training programs.
It is alleged the group of men fled the facility and made their way to a sporting complex in Leeming, where they assaulted a man for his car keys.
The men allegedly fled on foot when they were unable to steal the car.
Three of the men were later caught but Ninyette remains on the run.
Police are appealing for any information the public may have about the whereabouts of Ninyette.
Anyone who sights the escapee is urged not to approach him and to call Triple Zero.
