Political leaders react to Esperance fires
AUSTRALIAN POLITICAL LEADERS REACT TO THE WA BUSHFIRES:
* Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull:
"Lucy and I join all Australians in expressing our love and solidarity for the families who lost loved ones in the terrible fires at Esperance. Australians also applaud the brave firefighters and SES workers in WA as they put their lives on the line to keep communities safe."
* Federal opposition leader Bill Shorten:
"This is devastating. Thoughts are with the loved ones of these people and the communities affected. Please stay safe."
* West Australian Premier Colin Barnett:
"Everyone is devastated to see the loss of four lives in these fires near Esperance. My thoughts and prayers (are) with families. Gratitude extended to all emergency service workers."
* WA Minister for Emergency Services Joe Francis:
"It's a terrible tragedy and it's a horrible way to start what is obviously going to be an incredibly challenging bush fire season."
