Perth suburb remains without power hours after car hits power pole

Hundreds of homes remain without power after a car crashed into a power pole last night in a Perth suburb.
About 300 homes in Scarborough will remain without power until this afternoon.
Powerlines sparked with bright flashes lighting up the street after the car crashed at about 7pm yesterday.

It might look dangerous but it's a safety measure that reduces the risk of electric shock to the car and the driver.
Homes from Eradu Lane to Brodie Lane and Grand Promenade to Duke Street are without power.
Authorities estimate the restoration time will be about 4pm.
