Perth residents given the chance to test new stadium bridge

Dynamic testing events have been scheduled Perth's new stadium bridge before it opens for Fremantle’s Round 17 game on July 15.

The tests begin from Saturday to Monday where volunteers will meet to walk across.

It requires 300 people to walk along Matagarup Bridge continuously in a designated area, with groups of 50 taken off the bridge at a time.

A testing team will take readings from sensors to assess movements in the structure.

Volunteers will move through from 8am during the morning session and 2pm for the afternoon sessions.

The event is not a family-friendly event with adult volunteers needed.

Your weight will have to be included in the registration form to contribute to the testing data.

The bridge is approximately 65 metres tall and stretches 370 metres, with eight metres between the water and the underside of the bridge.
