A man accused of an armed rampage in Perth's south has been tracked down by a sniffer dog and tasered during a confrontation with police.

The 45-year-old is alleged to have damaged property at a Beckenham home on Wednesday afternoon before arming himself with a gun and going to a house in Canning Vale.

Police also say he rammed a car stopped at a roundabout in a road rage incident.

Officers responding to reports of a gunshot in Huntingdale about 7pm heard the man shouting and tracked him down with a police dog, tasering and arresting him after a brief confrontation.

A 12 gauge sawn-off shotgun and about 35 shotgun shells were found in a nearby home.

The man has been refused bail and is due to appear in court on Thursday.
