Perth murder accused hurt in rear-ender

An accused murderer complained of an injured shoulder when the prisoner transport van he was travelling in was rear-ended in Perth's southern suburbs, causing his trial to be adjourned.

A Department of Corrective Services spokesman said the detainee, one of three men on trial over the death of 29-year-old Jason Robert Edge in 2015, was set to give evidence on Friday but instead had his shoulder x-rayed in hospital.

The other seven prisoners in the van were not injured and the trial is expected to continue on Monday.
