A fight between two men, believed to have been relatives, has ended with one of them dying in Perth's northern suburbs, but no charges have been laid.

The disturbance in Manapouri Meander in Joondalup reportedly began around 12.30am on Friday with one of the men jumping the fence of the house.

Neighbours have told several news outlets the other man came over in a bid to calm the situation but the pair became embroiled in a fight.

Locals said the second man then collapsed in the driveway, possibly from a heart attack.

Four children who live at the house reportedly became distressed and screamed as the incident unfolded, and their mother tried to resuscitate the stricken man.

Police are yet to confirm those details, but said the men were known to each other, both aged in their 30s and the survivor was assisting with inquiries.

After being taken into custody and questioned by homicide squad detectives, the man was released without charge.
