Perth man faces court over woman's murder

A 44-year-old man has briefly appeared in court charged with murdering a woman he knew at a house in Perth.
Police found the victim, who was aged in her 40s, with life-threatening injuries at the Balga property on Sunday and she was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
Upendra Ihalahewa faced Perth Magistrates Court on Monday and was remanded in custody until his next appearance on February 11.
