Perth man charged over 1997 rape

A Perth man has been charged almost 20 years after he allegedly broke into an 18-year-old woman's home and raped her at knife point.
The now 43-year-old man allegedly broke into the woman's Queens Park home wearing a balaclava in June 1997, sexually assaulting her after tying her up.
The man faces a string of charges including aggravated sexual penetration, deprivation of liberty and aggravated burglary, and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.
