Perth Freight Link opponents form alliance

Dozens of community groups and organisations have formed an alliance to fight the Barnett government's planned Perth Freight Link, the state's first toll road.

Residents fearing their homes will be bulldozed, environmentalists protecting the Beeliar wetlands and businesses opposed to the increased traffic are among those united against the link.

Alliance co-convenor Kim Dravnieks said Premier Colin Barnett did not have the mandate for the $1.6 billion tollway and the link was the result of poor planning.
