A construction worker fell from the roof of a Perth building today.

A delicate operation to rescue the man was launched, with firefighters called in to use a sky lift to remove the worker from the building.

The carpenter, believed to be in his 20s, had been working on the roof of this Keyside Close property around 10am this morning.

Colleagues say he fell through a roof baton, dropping two-and-a-half metres below.

He was suffering from possible pelvic and hip injuries and was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital where he is now in a stable condition.

Building company Phillip Cousins forced workers to down tools, while Work Safe investigators inspected the site.
