Perth brothers walk free in Bali after allegedly urinating on a shrine and bashing a shopkeeper

Two Australian brothers have been released from a Bali jail after being accused of bashing a local shop keeper and urinating on a shrine while on a drunken night out.

Tim and Scott O'Hehir, from Perth, were facing up to seven years jail but walked free overnight after the pair came to an arrangement with the alleged victim, Wayan Mudipa.

Mudipa, who owns the Apa Kabar Restaurant in North Kuta, had alleged that he saw Scott, 32, urinate behind a temple near his restaurant and Tim, 27, urinate inside a nearby shop that he owns.

After confronting the pair, Mudipa alleged that Tim hit him and Scott struck him with a beer bottle.

The brothers allegedly fled the scene before locals caught up with them.

The pair spent several nights behind bars before they were released, and are expected to return to Perth today.

"I want to apologise to Mr Wayan on behalf of myself and my brother and I would also like to apologise to Mr Wayan's family, the island of Bali and the entire Indonesian archipelago for the trouble that we've caused," Scott O'Hehir said.
