Palmer's workers a priority: Cash

Making sure workers at Queensland Nickel workers get their $73 million in entitlements is a priority for the government but Clive Palmer must step up and take responsibility, says federal Employment Minister Michaelia Cash.

Ms Cash says the government is considering whether to assist with entitlements - which would not cover 100 per cent - after the federal MP Mr Palmer was accused of using the collapsed company's funds to bankroll his political party and personal spending.

"If we release the funds it will be the largest call on FEG (fair entitlements guarantee) Australia has ever seen ... but Clive Palmer has a moral responsibility to step up for his employees," she told AAP.
