Overseas workers underpaid thousands in WA

Dozens of overseas workers from Asia and Europe have been underpaid thousands of dollars by a West Australian labour hire business, the Fair Work Ombudsman has found.

The 27 employees, who were working at a Wooroloo abattoir on a casual basis, were collectively short-changed more than $35,000 between July 2014 and August 2015.

The ombudsman found the company, Comprehensive Cleaning, had applied incorrect minimum wages to the employees, many of whom were on 417 working holiday visas, but had agreed to backpay all of the employees.
