More than 10,000 Aboriginal children have joined a sport or recreation club in Western Australia following the introduction of $200 vouchers to help families pay for club fees.

The latest statistics show that Aboriginal children now make up one in five KidSport participants playing sport and involved in a club in WA, Sport and Recreation Minister Mia Davies said.

"It shows just how many children want to get involved in sports - but who may be missing out due to financial circumstances," she said.

The top clubs with Aboriginal KidSport kids were Murlpirrmarra Connection (Wiluna), Armadale Junior Football Club, Broome Basketball Association, Balga Junior Football Club, Meekatharra Community Resource Centre and Northam Amateur Basketball Association.
