New Perth school for troubled students

A small new school planned for Perth's eastern suburbs will manage some of Western Australia's most troubled students.

The Midland academy will open in 2016 and take up to 20 students who require more intensive educational programs than those offered at mainstream schools.

"Specialist staff will work with students who have extreme and complex behaviours - including violence towards teachers and other students," Education Minister Peter Collier said on Wednesday.
