Negotiators attend East Perth stand-off

A man has been taken to hospital for a mental health assessment after a stand-off with police in East Perth.

Tactical Response Group negotiators were called in after the man was heard making threats from his Goderich Street apartment around 1am.

Police declined to comment further, but reports from the scene suggest the man had a knife and was shot by a non-lethal beanbag round.
