A man has been charged with drug and traffic offences after crashing a motorbike in front of police in WA's southwest.

The 21-year-old was riding an off-road motorcycle in Cookernup on Saturday afternoon and crashed when he saw police, who then searched him and allegedly found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and cash.

Police have charged the biker with failing to stop, no authority to drive, using an unlicensed vehicle, possessing unlawfully obtained property, possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing a drug with intent to sell or supply.

He'll appear in Harvey Magistrates Court on Monday.
